[Quarter Century Xanga Entry]
I’d write a much deeper and insightful Birthday entry
But I’m at work (GRRRRRRRRRRRR)
First and Foremost thanks for all the birthday shout outs
13 Now listen, you who say,
"Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city,
spend a year there, carry on business and make money."
14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.
What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say,
"If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.
17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins
James 4: 13-17
8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ
Philippians 3:9
That pretty much sums up my life.
Who cares if I’ve turned away from my sinful past?
Who care’s if I’ve lost more friends than have gained?
Who cares that I spend all my free time in Ministry?
Who cares that I don’t sin as much, but do more Good?
It means absolutely NOTHING for me to count anything as Gain
in my life, if the very value of gain is not Christ Jesus Himself.
For me (or anyone) to believe that Ministry time,
or the number of sacrifices I have made for Kingdom Work is Gain…..
I might as well not serve at all.
Why, you ask??
Because the end goal, is DO I LOVE JESUS?
A love sooooo strong, that the love for our parents, brothers, sisters, & friends
Look like HATRED, compared to our Love for our God the Father.
If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children
and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:26
37"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me;
and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38"And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Matthew 10:37-38
[There’s nothing figurative about those verses,
so please, please, please, let’s not try to twist the meaning of this
very literal text of Christ for false comfort.]
Brothers and Sisters,
Do we really love Serving God, or do we just love Serving??
Do we really Love God, or do we just Love saying it??
Till my next reality Check point, Peace out.
And yea,
Happy Birthday, girl.
